Projects & Interventions
Building lasting solutions for communities facing water scarcity and food insecurity
Mulenyu Primary School
Kitui County | October 2019
Water scarcity is a serious challenge in arid and semi-arid regions, affecting the quality of life and livelihood of residents. Early in 2017, AQUA A.I identified the dire need for clean and safe water in Mulenyu Primary School. The pupils had to walk for more than 2 hours to access water from the sole seasonal Mutongwe River. Our intervention brought sustainable water solutions directly to the school compound.
Shomela Primary & Secondary Schools
Kilifi County | July 2021
Shomela Primary and Secondary Schools are located in the Magarini sub-county, Kilifi County. Magarini is one of the driest regions in Kilifi that barely receives adequate rainfall. The schools initially shared water from only 20,000-liter tanks which had unfortunately broken. Our project restored and expanded their water storage capacity.
COVID-19 Community Response
Multiple Counties | 2020-2021
COVID-19 hit all corners of the world in equal measure, but the situation was especially dire in less privileged localities already facing challenges such as drought and famine. As one of our core intervention pillars, Aqua A.I mobilized resources to provide essential supplies, hygiene kits, and support to the most vulnerable communities.
